Unfortunately this years Klondike Derby for our district has been canceled due to extremely low registrations. Our unit responded with 10 people planned to attend, however our unit alone does not make or break an event. We will consider attending one of the two below mentioned Klondikes from our neighbouring districts, however with this last-minute change there is no guarantee we will be able to attend.

Registration Price Increase
From the Hudson Valley Council:
Good afternoon,
Earlier this week, an email was sent out to our Scouting community with a message from the BSA National office explaining the membership fee increase which will go into effect December 1, 2017. Since then, our Hudson Valley Council office has received many inquiries in response to that email and we would like to take this opportunity to clarify the breakdown of our fees within the program:
- $33 National fee (effective 12/1//2017)
- $36 HVC operation service fee
- $12 insurance fee
- $12 Boys Life subscription fee (optional)
This brings the total to $81 annually per registrant within the program ($93 total if Boys Life subscription is added). Please note, our council fees remain unchanged at this time.
Yours in Scouting,
David Horton, Scout Executive
William Poole, Council President
Jacquline Heurbach, Council Commisioner
